We officially received a response from Buckingham Palace! The letter was marked as confidential so we will not be able to disclose a picture of it or quote it. However, we are happy to share this update: On behalf of King Charles, His Majesty’s secretary has suggested to our movement to reach out to the Ministry of Justice for further advice on how to acquire a pardon for Captain William Kidd. The King cannot interfere with the matter. We gratefully appreciate the King and His Majesty’s secretary for taking the time to reach out to us and provide this guidance.
We will not be sending off a letter on September 22nd. However, please keep a lookout for our next update as we begin to work towards reaching out to the Ministry of Justice.
